Denver's mint produced the same accidental "Close AM" reverse variety as its Philadelphia counterpart in 1992, when a small number of dies meant only for proof coins the following year slipped into regular production. It remains one of the more quietly significant modern Lincoln cent rarities, easy to overlook without close comparison to a standard 1992 cent.
