A Philadelphia working die for the 1942 dime was first hubbed with the old 1941 date, then re-hubbed with 1942, leaving the earlier digit clearly visible beneath the new one -- one of the most famous overdate errors of the twentieth century, popular enough that dealers were advertising it the same year it was struck.
